Raising Ancestors Summer Camp

When: Wednesday 6/5 - Thursday 6/13 (we understand districts dismiss for summer on different days, indicate your availability on your application)
Time: 8:30am - 2:00pm (drop off 8:30-10am; pick up 2pm)
Where: 'Our Second Home' 725 Price Street Daly City, CA
Who: Children ages 5-11 years old
Cost: Free enrollment! $100 one time non-refundable administration and materials fee.
About Our Summer Camp
After serving hundreds of parents and caregivers in our Decolonizing Parenting Workshops over the last 3 years and dozens in our Raising Liberated Kids Membership Community, it was time to create a community for our kiddos.
We knew we had to start with the culture bearers in the family (aka parents) FIRST in order to shift the culture inside their homes to reimagine education from a perspective outside of the institution.
Raising Ancestors has been partnering with Kapwa Kultural Center and Daly City Partnership to host these Decolonizing Parenting Workshops at community center ‘Our Second Home’ in Daly City for the past year.
It was a natural progression for us to continue to serve these same families and now their children as well as the children in the greater community.
We welcome returning and new families to join us as we open the doors for the first of its kind decolonizing, liberation centered summer camp in Daly City!
This Camp is For You if:
Your kiddo(s) are ages 5-11 years old
You and your family are working toward collective liberation
You are reimagining education from a perspective outside of the institution
You are a family enrolled in public, private or parochial school and you are on summer break
You are a homeschooling or unschooling family looking for community
All are welcome, BIPOC voices and marginalized identities centered
Application Process For Camper
1) Complete Camper Application by Friday 5/10
2) Send $100 one time non-refundable administrative and materials fee to Venmo @adrienne-esguerra by Friday 5/10
3) You will receive email notification that application and fee was received.
4) The week of 5/13 you will receive another email with orientation information

Application Process For Volunteers
1) Complete Volunteer Application by Friday 5/10
2) You will receive email notification that application has been received.
3) Plan to complete Live Scan Fingerprint by Friday 5/10.
4) Submit Live Scan receipt to adrienne@raisingancestors.com to have Live Scan fee reimbursed.
5) The week of 5/13 you will receive another email with volunteer orientation information
